Max here was 36ËšC and that was one of the cooler readings in the region. Disgusting.
It's called clown range for a reason.

the temperature is dropping more rapidly than yesterday. we're down to 31C (still humid though at 51%) despite the lack of a breeze

blessedly the temp in the house is down to 32C and dropping......and that was really weird to type :o

PSA: don't plan on having your second dose of the vaccine during an historic heat wave; fever plus 36C in the house: 1/10 do not recommend

Hey so whats everyones thoughts on the rest of the week? I still wonder if models are overdoing the cool down given the amount of heat trapped in the valleys. But there is a marine push modelled for tomorrow, which is good news. Today was likely the hottest day but I wonder if the valley will get below 30 in the next few days?

Heartbreaking and infuriating read about the paramedic situation in the province and the city. Dozens of unnecessary deaths this weekend thanks to government ineptitude and those G-D managers collecting their massive paycheques and schmoozing their way up in society rather than doing their jobs.

There is going to be a significant death toll from this heat wave. Sort of shocking the media have so far downplayed it.

They didn't up the staffing levels or incentivize people EMTs to work or anything. Just played it like normal. On top of how overworked and underpaid those folks are already. Just insane. I don't mind Adrian Dix from time to time but this falls on him and his department.

I'd say 33-36c tomorrow in the valley and eastern Metro Van. 29-32c on Wednesday. Dropping below 30c region wide by Thursday. We'll see though...

The GFS is overdoing the cooling trend, I think. Still, the difference will be noticeable.
