I hit 36C today. Too hot for me but hearing we may see lightning in the lower mainland tonight. Hoping for a good light show

41.2°C in Lytton.
And 54.4°C in Furnace Creek. If verified, it will be a new WORLD record (reliable).

Quite pleasant here, didn't quite reach 28. It was hotter during the last SWS.

Yeah looking at that map, 35/36C in Coquitlam is probably pretty accurate.VanCitySouth wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2020 5:52 pm This is what I caught on the Wundermap just before 4 PM. No doubt it was a hot one there, plenty of probably reliable readings around the 35 mark.
FWIW My crappy home thermometer recorded a high of 36.5C today

Re: August 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
I would say 34-35°C.
Note that the 41.2°C in Lytton are only 0.6°C below the provincial monthly record (41.8°C in Lytton in 2004).

Not too many people excited about the thunderstorm threat tonight? I’m already seeing multiple distant flashes!

Re: August 2020 Forecasts and Discussions
I know what you mean, but usually the initial dry thunderstorms last much longer with way more strikes. I’ve seen 6 or 7 so far in the last bit, also multiple locations not just one thunderhead! Lots of lightning in Abby that I can see from my view.
