I think places above 3-400ft are going to do well this winter. Those of us at sea level will have plenty of ice cold rain.
Maybe reverse psychology will work.....
Agree. I think a winter akin to 1961-62, 1974-75, 1975-76, 1981-82, 1998-99, 2001-02 or 2007-08 is most likely. A mix of good, decent or average but definitely not terrible either.

Combing that with the PNA graph... seems like there's a possibility for some minor cold shots/arctic trickle but we'll primarily see cool W/NW flow. We could see a bit of an Interior cold pool set up though.
You won't see enough consensus that far out on an ensemble mean. But I do agree that some point you need to see something to knock your socks off to get thinking about a crazy winter.

Yep. The same people who are never prepared. The same people tailgating on the highway in heavy rain.. these are called "Stupid" people.
I love when people tailgate me in heavy rain because who wouldn’t ?
What's this levee Abby is going to put up? 10 properties will have to be sacrificed.

They interviewed a local farmer who's set to lose his property too.
Thanks for sharing the article, some interesting things in there including a possible upcoming ban on non-essential travel and using state of emergency powers to seize grain on it's way to China. They didn't mention hay but I know we also send a lot of hay over there too.
I do wonder who's more screwed... Vancouver or the rest of BC/Canada? Many goods are shipped out of here. We still have the ports although that situation will clog up fast realistically. Yeah, were all screwed. this consumer economy may have met it's match: mother nature. Our infrastructure ain't got **** on her. And that wouldn't be a bet thing if we hadn't so blindly invested our entire existence on this complex system that is evidently fragile and vulnerable.
Having said that, things will be rebuilt relatively quickly. But the area cannot afford more wild weather swings, and realistically that's all we get right now. Hey maybe this would be the year we get a crippling snowstorm..when we can least afford it.
Geesh, don't the main power transmission lines run right through the flooded Sumas prairie, how stable are those right now. I know on my travels through the canyon and other areasl always use to wonder how did they accomplish such steep and high terrain besides helicopter l'm surprised none of those towers have been washed out.
