Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
lets hope that arctic air trickles in faster than modelled this weekend and we receive generous amounts of snow. I love the unpredictability of cold, sloppy troffs
and we can score well. Heres hoping to a swift transition to snow on Fri/Saturday and a snowy weekend

Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

Stolen from the AF, since WeatherBell is continuing to be slow. 12Z GFS still looks snowy for the weekend.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Those snowfall maps can be misleading. All I know is we need sub 525 thickness and sub -5°C 850mb for snow down to sea level here. Which we get by Friday evening with ALL models.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Not to get on EC, but if you look at their forecast for the weekend, you would assume a decently warm weekend with some rain.
This is why the public is always caught off guard. If someone checked it today and decided not to check the weather again, as most people do, then they would be surprised.
Anyways, this weekend will have surprises for snow

Honestly very disappointing. Mark Madriga was forced to go with 7°C high for Sunday and Rain just because they have to follow EC forecast.Weather101 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 8:36 am Not to get on EC, but if you look at their forecast for the weekend, you would assume a decently warm weekend with some rain.

Re: January 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
It's messed up!I know older people, like my grandparents, watch the news and think, "Oh, okay, we can drive around this weekend, no problem." It's going to catch a lot of people off guard.
" Where did this come from?" When all along, it was legitimately coming, and it ruins credibility of people trusting the weather.
