Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
-18 would be an all-time record low at YVR, so I slightly doubt that's going to happen.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 10:51 am![]()

This is where it gets confusing Rubes, so at what point does this blast end? and the next one begins.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 11:03 am Almost certainly overdone, since models almost always overdo the cold air advection in our arctic blasts.
But it does bode well for a classic garden-variety arctic blast.

Lots of melting going on here despite temps near -5C. The Feb sun is strong.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
Well let's see l'm 65 no applause please sit down. I've lived through the --18c record low in Dec /68 and the record high in July /09, however YVR did hit -16c in Dec 2021 so l doubt YVR set a record low in my my lifetime at least and may never win global warming.

Re: February 2025 Forecasts And Discussions
its not happening. Same as the -22 for Agassiz lol.
Maybe like -10 and -15 would be solid. I'd rather it be -2c and snowy for the first 48 tho
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

l wonder what happened to Nimbus was posting during winter regularly he worked at the old weather office @ YVR l had a chance to talk to him on the phone back in 2021 we were reminiscing about when l called the weather office back then. He wrote a book l can't remember the name it's about weather on the west coast.

It just keeps reloading and reloading. February version of January 1969 eventually transitions to a March 1951 repeat. Everyone gets buried.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 11:13 am This is where it gets confusing Rubes, so at what point does this blast end? and the next one begins.![]()

It's not melting. The snow is just compacting. Winter lives on.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 04, 2025 11:15 am Lots of melting going on here despite temps near -5C. The Feb sun is strong.![]()

Wow, that could be colder than what we're seeing this week. Nice!
If it verifies we'll be seeing some healthy frozen local lakes and ponds, given they were already primed over the last few weeks with the dry weather cold nighttime temps.

Throw a couple sliders in there to mix in with the clear/cold/dry days.
