That's a more classic AR setup for our region. Valley and the South Island wouldn't get hit as hard as they did with the last AR.wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 8:34 am So there is a rather impressive AR hitting the Central Coast right now and the latest GFS is showing a rather impressive AR striking our region starting Thurs with back to back AR's and precip lasting until Sunday. 6" to 8" of rain...but the SW orientation would impact the North Shore and Howe Sound region this time.
Most of this precip falls Thurs to Sat.
Unfortunately some snow has fallen on the Mountains. 6" of rain would make our situation more dire.
Hoping this doesn't verify.

Sad... Highway 8 is a really lovely drive.Canada Goose wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 10:31 am https://twitter.com/BradleyFriesen/stat ... 2050795520

Nice to see cold air settling into Alaska and the Yukon (and NWT) of late. Most of autumn - especially October - was a massive torch up there.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
18Z GFS continues with the classic AR trend. Areas North of the Fraser and into Howe Sound get hit with the heaviest rainfall. Still not good news but its better than another direct hit on the Fraser Valley. Still in the long range though so nothing is set in stone yet.

Assuming you took hwy 12 through the Fraser canyon from Lytton to Lillooet at that time. That one is another beautiful route.Forrest Gump wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 1:01 pm Yikes, another Hwy bites the dust. About 12 years ago I took Hwy 8 and Duffy lake rd(hwy 99) from Kelowna to Lillooet to Whistler. What a beautiful scenic route that was. Amazing there hasn't been more fatalities . South Western BC already falling apart at the seams, let's pray that those future ar events are not as severe.

Doesn't look too bad locally. 50-75mm in Coquitlam is fairly run of the mill.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 2:52 pm 18Z GFS continues with the classic AR trend. Though I understand it's the last thing the valley needs right now. Even relatively small rainfall amounts will make the situation even worse.

Yup. And we still have the GEM solution, which is significantly worse for the Fraser Valley than the GFS.

Re: November 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
Hi all!
I just picked up my new car today and I must say I’m stoked!!! I don’t need gas
It is a full electric car!
Also, I was just at Costco in Burnaby (Brighton) and there is no shortage of anything. All shelves and coolers stocked. Thought I’d let y’all know incase someone needs something.

Superstore near Coquitlam Centre was also all good, as of yesterday. Was a bit busier than usual but shelves were mostly fully stocked.SnowGranny wrote: ↑Sat Nov 20, 2021 4:32 pm Also, I was just at Costco in Burnaby (Brighton) and there is no shortage of anything.
