August has been wetter than normal so far in the interior.

Kamloops averages 23.7 mm in August. 2021 has so had 21.1 mm as of the 20th with more rain the forecast.
Ashcroft averages 22 mm. 2021 has had 33.6 mm
Lytton averages 22.9 mm. 2021 has had 39.7 mm
Lillooet averages 25.7 mm. 2021 has 41.8 mm so far.

Lillooet has weather records since 1879 (with a few years missing). Only 3 Augusts have been wetter than the current one. They've had 63.6 mm of rain so far, and up where the fire is they had snow yesterday.

Cranbrook has had 87 mm so far this month, which marks the wettest August on record.

So, ya, this has been a very wet August from Lilloot and Lytton in the west to Cranbrook and Sparwood in the east. The Fraser Canyon is 500 km away from Eastern BC.

I'm surprised they got that much. It's been drier in Abbotsford, even though we are typically wetter than Vancouver (on a side note, this is a trend I've noticed occurring more frequently in recent years).

YXX has recorded 58.5 mm this summer, and nearly two thirds (36.1 mm) of that fell in the first 14 days of June. Only 22.4 mm has fallen over the past 2.5 months.

I will look at my PWS stats later, but I think they are pretty similar.

Wow! YXX averages 163.9 mm of rain for JJA and only received 58.5mm, which is just 35.7% of normal!
