Latest snow date at YVR was 4/21/2008...same day as the Sun Run.
That's actually the latest
measurable snow data at YVR.
Latest snow date at YVR was a trace on May 6th, 2002. Had a brief snow shower roll through the region in the morning.

The low and its associated moisture was well to our south. It is as simple as that. If the centre of that low had tracked in through the northern Puget Sound, we would have gotten the goods here. It has snowed in April here before and it will happen again some year.
Yes i know. But it also seems that the topography inhibits/enhances certain areas in these set ups (Ex E Van Isle - Low no where closer to them // or PSCZ or Hood Canal etc) It also seems that these Lows often develop/intensify just to our south for the same reason. Here, the mountains shred them. Tell em Nito!!
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

Snowfall warning issued for northeast Metro Vancouver.
Don't remember the last time we saw one of these in April... maybe 2011? 2009 and 2008 for sure.

What year did they divide Metro Vancouver in to forecast areas? If we still had the old metro Vancouver blanket forecast area there would be no snowfall warning it would mostly likely read accumulations over higher terrain inland.
So it's unprecedented to see the snowfall warning in one area indeed.

The snowfall warning is just Coquitlam and Maple Ridge? Ugh. I'm ready for sun and warmth. If anyone wants to take my snow, go right ahead. I am not amused.
Actually, I kind of am just because of how rare this is so while I'd prefer NO snow, if it's gonna happen make it a big enough deal to matter and set a record and then be on your way, snow! Make way for spring!
