Early Feb sun angles are no joke. You could see one area be near +6C under sunshine while it's snowing and +1C 5km away.

So, two things:

1. Increasingly likely now, we are going to see a pretty big snow event.
2. It's amazing how, three weeks ago, it looked bleak, and once again, not only is February delivering, but this looks like a long event, possibly! Who would have thought!

These mesoscale models have been incredibly consistent on essentially blowing up a thunderstorm over metro Vancouver that brings these crazy snow totals. Obviously a pretty volatile setup where a few kilometres could make a huge difference in totals.
