Icy cables brought Cypress to only be able to open 1 main lift and the beginner chair, that and staff shortages as well.
Why not try cycling to work, grocery store, anywhere!

Just got down from Grouse and it was the same, Chairs were barely running. Worst day of skiing I've ever had lol. Should've known the warmer air aloft would come in sooner than expected this AM

+14C just south of Portland. My attempt at demonstrating what is going on down there.

I think my son can probably draw better than this.

Glad I stayed up late watching the storm. This morning was a crapfest if you were hoping to see the snow falling.

I got 17cm of snow last night, with a nice ice layer on top this morning with the freezing drizzle. It's kinda neat hearing the snow and ice fall off the trees onto the hard surface. Sounds like throwing something into a stack of Lego's.

I got my car out of it's icy tomb.

It's always sad to see a beautiful snowfall ruined so quick. We don't deserve to be tortured like this all the time.
For those who wanted rain so fast, hope you enjoyed the freezing rain mess. Fools.

As for an AR event, that can F.R.O.

Still -0.5

Very light mist.

Fair enough. I suppose it can be said (may have been said already) that at least when we thaw, we get it done in 2 days instead of a flood-prone 2 months like in the Prairies.

Here is what accumulated from last night, with a nice frozen rain blanket over top.

Comes with the territory on the Wet Coast. If I hated it that much, I wouldn’t live here.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Mind you, some times we score as well- with extended cold and multiple snows. It can't last forever...

If you told me before the season started that I could get 68 cm of snow between Dec 24 and Jan 6, split fairly evenly between the front, middle, AND back end, I may have sold my soul to guarantee the outcome.

It's been a fun couple of weeks. Onto #beginningofFeb!

Agree. Give me the fast and quick melt once it gets slushy.

I hated going to Sudbury in the late spring when it would get warmer and you would have meter deep slush pools on trails that were hidden under thin ice. My uncle nearly lost his snowmobile in a run off pond that formed unbeknownst to him
