Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
What a surprise to wake up to, 11 cm since midnight with a total accumulation of 19 cm. Also no power but it came on around 10 am.
Still snowing small flakes but pretty steady.

Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Trees are covered, it's just starting to fall off a few of them.
+1.3c here +0.6c Sechelt
and here I was hoping and wishing to get the 2 - 4 cm that EC had forecast.
this is much, much better.

With the exception of Monty, looks like you’re the big winner with this storm!Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 10:45 am Trees are covered, it's just starting to fall off a few of them.

I was surprised to see that, I haven't done that well for total accumulation in the past but I'll take the win!!!Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 10:50 am With the exception of Monty, looks like you’re the big winner with this storm!

Mixing with drizzle and really starting to fall off the trees.

Re: February 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
When I first moved to the Pacific Northwest, one of the things that amazed me was how much that initial 100 m (heck, often just the initial 50 m) of elevation mattered so much during snowfalls. The first 50 m often makes as much or more difference than an additional 250 m of elevation does in the Rockies. When they said “snow in the higher hills,†I had pictured that as meaning the foothills well out of the city, not the roughly 100 m in-city ridge top my first home was on.
It's called clown range for a reason.
