Yup, Hope now down to -5, DP is -8 with a light SE breeze.

Taking a closer look at this (before my three kids wake up), it appears the southern interior cleared up early this am allowing temperatures to plummet and surface air pressure to rise. I'm guessing the pressure rose enough to tighten the gradient ever so slightly to gently draw some of that out here.

Hope this uploads. Here's a shot outside of my office on James St in Mission. They always close a portion of James St. when the snow flies. You can see that the snow drift is close to 3' deep by the road signage. That's common when there's an outflow combined with a 15cm+ snowfall.

Yup know it well Royal Bank and across the street the big box store never paid a visit there the 5 years l lived there, miss the micro climates there mixed precip on Lougheed go to the top of Cherry st. and snowing with a couple slushy cm's usually.

this my radar app shows the Arctic front south of Bellingham can't be if it is it's very weak or the app is screwed up 3 hours ago it was @ Hope.

And we have SWS issued now for Metro Van and the Fraser Valley, just when you think it's done holy jumping sardines.

Go figure EC is forecasting more snow for Squamish than the lower mainland but yet no SWS makes no sense guess they didn't want to scare the residents.

Different areas have different thresholds for warnings and advisories. Like a windchill of -20 is an arctic outflow warning for Abbotsford. But a windchill of -20C in Prince George is a mild January morning.
