By golly Skipper Gimpy you nailed it 19c by the water :wtf: but for UBC close enough proximity to the water as YVR,
looks chilly around false creek and kitsilano might need your winter parka. :shifty:

The latest SREFPlumes mean temp for YVR is below 25 this next week. Over the next ~3 days the latest GFS had 2m temps at 31 max for YXX. The latest 00z EPSGram for YXX still only has a max temp around ~31C for the next week. I'm hoping this trend is right because I don't like the extremity that some of the model runs were showing with temps around 35-36. Maybe we will bump up to 32-34C instead of 36-38. It's still hot for us, but hopefully not extremely hot. I'm not trying to downplay this heatwave but I'm cautiously optimistic it's hopefully not as extreme as we were once believing. Let's hope this busts in our favour :)

On another note, here's a CFS Monthly forecast showing a very wet October! It also shows a very wet November.

It's already 26C here at 10 am and we're just beginning this heat wave. That's not a promising start if you're hoping for low 30's.

Up to 28.2ËšC IMBY.

Did a quickie overnight camping trip last night to the Harrison Lake area to get some nice dark skies for viewing the peak of the annual Perseid meteor shower from. Would estimate peak rates in the 100–180 meteors per hour range.
It's called clown range for a reason.

I'm currently at 27°, a little higher than the forecasted high. Let's see if it pushes higher in the next 2 hrs. I think max temp usually peaks at 4- 5pm during summer.
