from the NWS:
Timing for the Seattle metro area is around 5-7 pm. Steep lapse rates and mean
CAPE values exceeding 1,000 J/kg support strong updrafts across
the area with supercells expected. The Storm Prediction Center
has a Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms west of the Cascades.
The main threats include large hail (up to 2" in diameter),
damaging wind (58 mph or greater) and (to a lesser extent) brief
tornadoes.

Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

Today will be interesting, at the very least.
Storms usually don't work out for us and stay south, but I really hope this time it doesn't and we get a good storm.

We see that secondary band sweep in overnight with an onshore push preceding it. The result is less instability. We could see high based thunderstorms but the chance of anything ridiculous is slim.

Different story for Southern Puget Sound with clashing airmasses, very unstable mid layer and peak radiational heating. Supercell development is likely.

Be careful down there B.C's best trucker remember hiding under over passes is not recommended during tornado activity find a low spot like a ditch or culvert. :wtf:
