Lots of rain and hail today in BC north of 100 Mile. Rained all day in Fort St. John, and Williams Lake is currently getting nickel sized hail...

I don’t think so I think we are mostly done with heat waves this summer. Fall is coming early

I hope so, John. But, the progression of the pattern seems pretty ripe for a heatwave at the end of July or beginning of August. Nothing like the last one, but still hot for our standards.

From the Atmospheric press:

"Shocking images continue to pour out of the 12Z GEM. Meteorologists and weather enthusiasts alike were stunned to wake up to images of a single frame of rain over the Lower Mainland. Tyler Hamilton passed out at his desk as he tried to comprehend what he was seeing. As he was given first aid he was seen hyperventilating and shouting "hallelujah". While this outcome was unlikely to verify, this sight has been so rare in recent times that many in the weather community had given up hope and taken up other hobbies."

God, this month has been boring and uneventful in the Lower Mainland. I guess it's what we needed after the heat wave, only missing the rain. Big contrast between the coast and the interior, both in terms of active weather and temperature.

And this is why you should check road conditions on the Coq. Major accident up there southbound and major traffic jam at a standstill. I would hate to be trapped in that!
