I was trying not to get my hopes up too high for snow because I don't want to risk the awful feeling that comes when it's a bust.

But I have stayed up all night looking at maps, forecasts, YouTube videos, Twitter, blogs, forums...

It's too late for me guys, save yourselves! I'm all in.
I am dreaming of drinking a peppermint latte on December 1st while I decorate my Christmas tree while listening to Christmas music and watching the snowflakes fall outside the window.

Is this too much to ask?!!!

LET'S GO TEAM SNOW. :flakey: :cheerlead: :team:

Slappin' the winters on the car with my almost 6-year-old son today. If we get a dump of snow and it stays cool, I'm thrilled--and so will be my three kids. Models overdo warmth at 2m once there's a healthy snowpack in the absence of a Pineapple Express. It was Tim on the AF over a year ago that kept referring back to the EPS. He was raked over the coals for it. (I don't get all the hate for the guy. He's rather pragmatic). The GFS op can pick up on a pattern shift first that's 10+ days out... sometimes. But for the general evolution of a pattern, the EPS is my go-to. Not a bad 00z EPS. Looks like a ridge bridge trying to form in the Arctic. Despite the wobble of the finer details that make a large difference, overall, the pattern remains cool. Nothin' to complain about for this floormatt.

P.S. My son turns 6 on December 6. I remember driving with the Mrs. to the hospital at 4am as the outflow was just starting in Abby. My firstborn arrived, a memorable December weather-wise was commencing, and I had a cost accounting final on the 7th. What a time.

SWS
Strong southwesterly winds are expected.

Where: Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Greater Victoria and Southern Gulf Islands.

When: Tonight.

What: Wind gusts to 70 or 80 km/h.

Discussion: An intense Pacific cold front will sweep across the south coast tonight. The strongest winds will be the pre-frontal south or southwesterlies this evening except late this evening and after midnight for Chilliwack and Hope. The winds are strong enough to cause some power outages over the region. The highest gusts of 80 km/h are expected to occur near the water and near Hope.

Winds will ease overnight after the front moves out of the region.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.

In effect for:
Metro Vancouver

Ants your alive :o we miss your Kootenay desert reports.
Wpro was by the other night dropped a gift and left, yes it's a tad bit exciting but you know how it goes here run to run fun. At least you won't have to worry about westerlies or southwesterly's there if they forecast snow it will snow there. :x
