I got 45cm in a few days during the February 2017 storm with temperatures just slightly below zero.Typeing3 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 4:34 pm Extreme cold and snow go hand in hand in our region though. Without major cold, it's extremely rare to score extreme snow.
I'm struggling to think of any regionwide extreme snowfalls (30-40+cm in one day or 50-60+cm in two/three days) without extreme cold already in place, or pushing into the region.

Re: January 2021 Forecasts and Discussions
The extreme snowfall with that event was primarily focused in the valley. YXX got 45cm in three days, but totals were much less most other areas across the south coast.
I was referring to regionwide snowstorms, as in impacting metro vancouver, fraser valley, sunshine coast and south/east vancouver island.

It has been and still is pretty windy here. Not sure of speeds but it's moved a lot of items around outside and BC Hydro outage map is showing a lot of red.

Strangley, havent heard from Nito much..and he mentions snow this time..hmmmm. Perhaps a harbinger of a changes in the future Nito..the great prognosticator of winter 2020/2021
