Portland hit 38˚C (100˚F) after hitting 39˚C (102˚F) yesterday. The latest back-to-back triple digit highs on record. So definitely a top tier torch down there.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Some toasty temps out there. Cooling off nicely tonight 18c at 1 am. 1.8c cooler than last night at this time, it'll be interesting to see how cold it gets.

cooled off decently this morning. Yesterday was peak heat day in this run...looks like 34-35c was tops. Not bad. 8-)
The Similks is looking like 35-36c for a 5 day run. Not bad again. Even a chance of showers thrown in there for tomorrow. So cool when that does occur during a heat run
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)

36.4°C in Hope yesterday. Not surprising as I was in Manning Park and even up there it was scorching hot (>28°C at 1,350 m).

This will be a record heatwave for late August, given its combined duration and intensity. 40°C for the Fraser Canyon for sure...

Lots of fire smoke south of Abbotsford/Chilliwack, near the US border.

Crystal clear skies in Metro Vancouver. I can see some smoke/haze off to the distance east towards the valley though.

My guess is that it could be from the Sailor Bar wildfire in the Canyon, north of Yale.

Edit.

Expect more to spread Westward overnight.

There is a special weather statement out for the expected bad air quality.

I was out in South Sardis today (yesterday) and it was definitely hot. I experienced the smokiness as well.
