First tornado on the south coast since 2018. Before that, the last one was in 1988.

l recall Nov 2016 we hit a high around this day of 21c @ YXX, l recall no jacket required that day.

In terms of longevity though, I don't think anything comes close to the November 1949 heatwave.

Epic winter for us as the Arctic air locked in for most of January.

Yep.

By average temp, the following January was the coldest on record for most locations.

Data is very spotty but it was likely the coldest month across the south coast in 75 years, since January 1875. Across the province, New Westminster is the only station available that existed in 1950 and goes far enough back to record 1875 as well.

That was interesting, thanks for posting. A "generational event" pairs nicely with our unprecedented heat dome and maybe? Fingers crossed, epic winter! But not too record breaking, want to leave some space for it to top itself next winter.
