I hope I get rain tomorrow, my pasture is drying up and mud is but a distant memory. I started watering today, need the grass to grow. EC isn't giving an amount, it'll probably just be a passing shower.

Crescent moon. The pretty red clouds were behind all the trees so it's a moon photo tonight.

Re: July 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
Saw a couple distant flashes to the south/southeast and heard 2 or 3 very distant rumbles about 10:45p.m. from out in Popkum.
Current radar is showing precip moving in a northeastlery direction off the cascades. Cells are probably not holding together as per usual once they get over the cascades and due to border force field and Covid restrictions.
It's a pleasant 18c and cloudy @ the pond in south Sardis.

Another outstanding amazing shot Ms. Christmasinjulycreeks. Perhaps a little fake snow, tinsel, lights and afew bobbles on the trees would have given it that holiday spirit.Roberts Creeker wrote: ↑Sat Jul 02, 2022 11:32 pm Crescent moon. Re: July 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
The most disappointing aspect of this summer is the lack of thunderstorm activity in the lowermainland. It's not that we haven't had the lack of moisture moving up from the south, we have but it seems to fall apart before crossing the border.
And the TStorms we did have back on Monday Jun. 27th wasn't even fotecasted.

That's the most disappointing aspect of every summer on the BC south coast.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 12:15 am The most disappointing aspect of this summer is the lack of thunderstorm activity in the lowermainland. Isn't that the truth TnoTS's l move to Chilliwack thinking l'll be in on some decent TStorms and wouldn't you know it everything that comes up heads further NE or over the mountains.
Early September 2019 was the last decent storm out here.

Looks like most of the Lower Mainland will miss out on thunderstorms. Looked so promising a couple of nights ago.

Could this be the "year without summer"?
Flashback to the 80s and 90s which had some relatively cold and wet summers. Average summer precip went up when both decades were in the climate normals.

Re: July 2022 Forecasts and Discussions
I think I've had about half a dozen already this year. Above average for this area, but none have been impressive.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Sun Jul 03, 2022 2:37 am Isn't that the truth TnoTS's l move to Chilliwack thinking l'll be in on some decent TStorms and wouldn't you know it everything that comes up heads further NE or over the mountains.l mean since l've been here outside of the odd rogue boomer.
Early September 2019 was the last decent storm out here.currently very light showers in the area and 16c @ the pond in south Sardis.
Today has been very underwhelming, though. I've received just 5.4 mm so far.
EC is forecasting 10-15 mm today and another 5-10 mm tonight, but the bulk of it was supposed to fall by now. Radar looks pretty dry.
