We're getting hammered here. I've never heard it like this. Branches are striking the windows.

Power outage in Coquitlam according to the BC Hydro outage map.

Is it getting windy there now?

That's fairly close to me. It's definitely pretty gusty out there.

This area is pretty exposed to NE, E, and SE winds.

W and SW winds are usually a non factor as the central Coquitlam hill is in way.

I am surprised by how much wind is in the LM. I thought it'd be Island only.

Overcast and 7.7C with a gentle breeze here. I thought it would be stronger out here.

50-70km/hr gusts (as modelled) seem to be verifying. Gusty but nothing too crazy.

10 minutes ago I was sitting inside my place and I heard some loud wind gusts outside maybe some things rattling around out there I looked outside the window and saw a whole bunch of leaves spinnng in a circular motion. I wouldn't be surprised if there was reports of a funnel cloud right here in Willoughby tonight
Edit
Or a dust devil or whatever they are called
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)
Willoughby Langley at ~320ft / Similkameeeens ~3400ft

Where I am has usually been pretty unaffected by winds. Same when I was in Port Moody. But tonight is howling. Had to bring in the patio furniture as I literally caught a chair from flying away entirely. Loud out there. Really hope power stays on because when it goes out up the hill it's out for days on end. Awful.
Burnaby Mountain @ 365 m..

Stats? Fresh out of those. But I win anyway. I got all the inches.
