I was logged out yesterday but it's been fine otherwise.

Muggy day today. Currently 20.6c humidy 64%. Had some grey clouds and hoped for rain but no, they've turned into fluffy white ones.

I thought it was supposed to be a troughy summer with El Nino. Hoping we get some cooler rainy periods this summer though I know that won't be popular with everyone.

Hawk, time to change your tag line, I think we have a pretty good idea what June is going to look like. I always look forward to seeing the new ones.

I'm assuming you're being sarcastic.

Honestly, I think a June 2021 redux in our lifetime is highly unlikely. As I said in a previous post, it's probably as rare as the October 1962 windstorm. We still have yet to see a repeat of that storm. That said, heatwaves on the scale of July 2009 and 2022 are definitely within reach. Those events were still significant in terms of intensity and duration. But I'd be very surprised to see another event on the scale of 2021 in our lifetime. However, I could be wrong and June 2021 could come back to haunt us. :silent:

Not sure how old everyone is on this forum but anyone 35 and younger will definitely see another heatwave like that in our lifetime.

Climate will continue to get warmer therefore heat events will become more frequent by the decade to the 2021 level. You can't compare the 1962 windstorm to this.
