Looking like humid heat as well. If it verifies, it will definitely add to this impressive warm end to summer with back to back heatwaves.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 4:27 pm Continuing to get some good signs of quality torching in early September.

I really hope we don't see this pattern repeat in Dec/Jan.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 4:27 pm Continuing to get some good signs of quality torching in early September.

Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
I would think the overnight lows won't be as warm once we get into Sept? Things seem to cool off quicker by that time.
I know in the past I've been up in elevation during warm spells in Sept and at night it cool down close to freezing while the days warm up to the mid 20's.
I wonder if it could be one of those years where fall doesn't really start until later in October. I remember there was one year where I was still in shorts/tshirt in Oct. Then things crashed really quick. It was a few years ago maybe?

Tomorrow is probably going to feel like a sloppy sweaty day with the humidity and the mix of sun and clouds. Ugh.
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++

2022. Fall rains didn't begin until early November, and later in the month was followed by a snowstorm. We still had smoke around the region well into October as August and September received only trace amounts of precip.

I don’t remember that, but it sounds like a nice 60 day stretch from summer to winter

Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
Just checked some of my old posts. Fall rains began in late October in 2022. Until then it was smoky and torchy.
Then it got abnormally cold. First flurries on 6 Nov. First sticking snowfall (3 cm) on 7 Nov. Another snowfall (12 cm) in late November. Arctic blast and a big dump of snow in mid-December.
Lawns never greened up that fall. Went from too dry for grass to grow to tool cold for it to grow in the span of a couple weeks. It was the year without an autumn.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Re: August 2025 Forecasts and Discussion
Yeah I'm not usually a torch guy but October torching is honestly the most pleasant. It gets nice and cool at night, and you might approach upper 20's but it doesn't last for hours, it quickly cools off as the sun goes down. So if it has to torch, let it be October, maybe November for that matter.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 8:26 pm Just checked some of my old posts.
