CR gets a lot more snow than anywhere on the moon.

They certainly do well in marginal scenarios. Much better than the Lower Mainland for sure.

I don't see any real reason to put stock in Weather Pro's forecast other than wishful thinking. Sorry.

The airport is a really good radiational cooling spot too. Lows are frequently below freezing from October thru March.

At the airport? It’s pretty far out of town. I bet there is less than that in town.

I think CR is pretty nice. And it’s not that far from the comox valley which has pretty much everything. But if you’re a city person than yea it’s pretty remote.

Went to Courtney/Comox for a week and Campbell R for the day last Aug and really enjoyed it. But living there full time probably not for me, although my wife says she wouldn't mind it.

Yup, just up the hill there is usually snow on the ground for a good part of the winter in Campbell River. I have been there pretty often in the winter and there's patchy snow along the shady open areas.

Here's how it looked before the changeover to rain at 3 pm in Newton. Yup we went shushy sledding and got soaked.

A low pressure system offshore has brought snow and rain across the south coast earlier today.

As snow level continues to hover between 200 to 300 metres tonight, most communities across the south coast will see a mix of rain and wet snow through Monday morning with no significant accumulations.

Higher elevations and inland sections of Metro Vancouver, East Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast could see higher amounts of 5 to 10 cm tonight.

Near the summit of the Malahat Highway, rain will change over to snow later tonight as temperatures lower. Snowfall amounts of 10 cm are possible by Monday

So in short...The snowfall warning is only for areas above 300m. Burnaby Mountain, Westwood Plateau and maybe the highest points of the North Shore communities (British Propeties).

Probably 400m on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.

Tyler Hamilton has a new video on TWNs Twitter talking about the island and then a bit of the mainland tonight thru Monday. Sounds like he expects northerly winds to drop snow levels on the island tonight but a toilet bowl effect for the mainland to bring southerly winds. Expect rain and slush to continue for lower elevations.
Where there’s a toilet bowl, there must be an anus.
