Interesting, none of the forecast EC and TWN have anything over 31° for the valley wonder why they are so far off

Mid August to mid September will be remembered for just relentless heat day after day. Just disgusting.

I think the Goose man is right, if things hold as models show, next week will be historic.

It cooled off nicely last night, down to 15.3C. That's the first time I've been below 17C in a week.

Not according to the 2m temperature map. Apparently the surface is the same temperature as the 850mb level.

Obviously wrong, but that said, the models seem to be backing down...

.LONG TERM /TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY/...The aforementioned upper low
gets shunted back westward out over the Pacific as the upper level
ridging mentioned in the short-term intensifies, expanding its
influence into W WA. This will see daytime highs climb back into
above normal as each day will see a progression through the 80s for
most interior sites. It appears the area tops off in the mid to
upper 80s for Wed and Thu...but latest solutions ease up on the
potential for offshore flow during this time frame, keeping out any
amplification by easterly winds. A couple of bursts of onshore flow
both Thursday and Friday will initiate a cooling trend...not so much
for Thursday as highs will still linger in the lower to mid 80s, but
much more significantly Friday, where W WA looks to return to more
seasonable temps in the 70s.

Possibly due to an inversion? Look at those temps over the glaciers northwest of Whistler and pemberton! Theyre receding like never before. Bridge glacier had a 90th percentile outflow last week, just a massive amount of water pouring off the glaciers wirh these temps. Just devastating for these glaciers, these late season heat waves are the worst. I flew over the icefields north of Bute Inlet about 3 weeks ago and it was ugly already. So much dirt and water pooling and ponds forming on top of the icefields. it's even worse now.

I wasn't paying close attention to what it was showing before, but the 12z EPS has backed off on significant heat. Still not ideal.
