My takeaway at this point, we get some chilly air and a couple of snow chances next week. Chances being the key word. Pretty good for early November.

Likely a lot of cold rain and a bit of slush for the lowlands. Good pattern for building up the snowpack on the north shore mountains.

January arctic blast or snowy Christmas week? Which one would you prefer?

I think there will be some low elevation snow and a surprise or two, but yeah, it won't stick around for too long.

My current wunderground 10-day. Definitely a lot more realistic than some of the Goofus output we have seen. Would have no complaints if this verifies.

Snowy Christmas week going into a January arctic blast (of the fart free variety).

The best timeframe for both significant cold and duration is in the late December to early February timeframe. So this is an easy one -- January for sure.

Although... if it had been 30 years since we last saw a classic Arctic blast in mid-late December (which we've seen three times in that timeframe -- 1996, 2008, and 2021) , I'd say Christmas week but the decline of January is pretty insane.
