This is true. I sense another nowcast tomorrow. Gut feeling is we will do pretty good compared to what the models show.

How much snow did you end up with ? I ended up with 10cm

Some snow on the water pictures. Amazing that the salt water doesn't melt it right away.
Amazing pics. Ty my man, a bike pic in the snow would have been fantastic.

Is there a major creek or two feeding into that harbor? Fresh water is lower density than salt water and tends to float on top, particularly in a sheltered body of water where lack of waves minimizes mixing.

When I was in college in Utah decades ago, they had a really cold winter and one of the bays on the Great Salt Lake froze over due to this phenomenon.

Fraser Valley, it's your turn tomorrow.
You guys could see up to 20 CM in some areas if this verifies.
Western sections will be less this time, so it's a reversal.
I think Surrey eastward has a chance of doing well tomorrow into Monday.
10 CM for west sections, 20 CM east sections.
Other areas of Metro Van could see 5 - 8 CM

We need to turn that watch into a warning.

So it was ANOTHER hit and miss today. Some areas got 10 CM or slightly more and others saw none. I feel sorry for the northern sections like Maple Ridge which really didn't see anything. They may do better this time round. Things should stay cool enough for snow except maybe at sea level, even there it's a 50/50 call. This storm was really a southern special. It just seems next to impossible to get things in the right spot for widespread snow in the LM. Actually quite a bit of snow fell today and last night it's just that it evaporated before it hit the ground.

A few more chanes this week for higher elevations. Possible reload coming. Winter hanging on for a bit.

Someone mentioned 1996. Yes that was a good yer for snow. The airport was nearly shut down.

Looks like Bellingham really scored. Lucky you, you are on tap for more! Another 10 - 15 CM perhaps.
