Slushy accumulation on cars and grass.

This is all we have to look forward to this winter. Pathetic.

Only 1.5 months to go. Lol.

AbbyJr wrote: Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:38 am It's actually ridiculous how this winter unfolded.

How in the world does a -ENSO/+QB0/SSW/MJO phase 7 not deliver?

I'm beginning to think all these ingredients listed above are just over hyped and that our best winters occur when we least expect it.

Some of the greatest winters in the PNW were actually El Nino.

It's frustrating but I won't give up on winter until late February.
I came to that conclusion a few years ago, thus why I don't really pay attention to much of those indexes anymore... except perhaps ENSO, but even that has a spotty track record. I still think ENSO neutral or very weak La Nina is our best bet.

Getting some very fine light snow, but not sticking at 2.4C. Looks like this event is pretty much over.

Mostly slushy rain this morning. Just turned to wet snow a few minutes ago. Radar says it should all be over within the hour.

^ The big jump in January averages was from the 1971-2000 normals to the 1981-2010 normals.

I'm kinda surprised mean temps haven't risen with the new normals, but January snowfall has undoubtedly declined yet again.

Was just about to point that out. A tell tale sign would be to look at data further Inland (Abbotsford) to see the truer reflection.
