Yup. I'm not a summer guy, but I can deal with sunny and warm as long there isn't smoke. Ugh.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Wasn't it early August and early September 2017? Both events were capped because of the smoke. I recall temps still hitting 33-36c in the early September heatwave though.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
I’m thinking Abby tops out around 41C, perhaps 42 if things align perfectly. Very good looking setup for some high based storms on Tuesday. I’m busy with work so not much time to add. Stay cool but try to enjoy the historic nature of what the next 3 days could bring. I’m kind of excited to see the numbers.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
At this point I'm inclined to agree, though I still think 40c will be tough to break. Can't believe I'm saying this but both Pitt Meadows and Abbotsford could record back to back days over 100f.Monty wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:28 am I’m thinking Abby tops out around 41C, perhaps 42 if things align perfectly. Definitely dialed way back considering the fact it is only forecasting a high of 37 for Lytton!

Not for the Lower Mainland, in fact it has warmed by a degree or two over the last couple of days.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
If 850s actually end up 31-32C then the higher end stuff could happen. That’s pretty far removed from anything we’ve ever seen. And that thermal trough pushing up from the south should keep the flow solidly offshore through Monday night.

A DP of 16.6°C is “muggy?†Toronto says hold my beer.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Quite cool yesterday. We won't be seeing temperature hotspots this low for a while...

One has to take context into account. This is not normal for us. Can't make a comparison to other regions.Rubus_Leucodermis wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:51 am A DP of 16.6°C is “muggy?†Toronto says hold my beer.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Even for here it's not extreme.
BTW, 40°C in the Fraser Valley is sure at 99%. It's historic, folks.

Re: June 2021 Forecasts And Discussions
Indeed. I don't think anyone is saying it (humidity) will be extreme. The point Chris Doyle and others are illustrating is that it is going to get awfully uncomfortable for our region.
