All ensemble members continue to show lowland snow on both Euro and GFS.

Hey did you receive any snow on that dec 22 dud fest? I just realized my numbers may be even more inaccurate than I thought..I think I remember getting a few cms that day, despite the massive bust overall.

What's weird is that the inch version of the map @PortKells posted shows a more generous blue area. And 2" is almost exactly 5 cm.

If this actually happens we will have seen at least a modified arctic outbreak for 5 months consecutively

I don't know if anyone noticed, but there was a minor pullback on the coming weekend system on Sunday until things started looking better again yesterday. I hope this means our pullback is out of the way and done with.

Right now I'm thinking 5-10cm sotf, 10-20 cm notf, probably 5 or less in the sad lands (Richmond, Tsawwassen)

A band of showers will cross the lower mainland near sunset tonight. Rain, graupel, wet snow, limited accumulation but it’s going to ice up tonight.

Later tomorrow a low forms off the Washington coast. Expect some light flurries over western sections of the lower mainland. As outflow increases and moisture lifts north the SE sections of Vancouver island could see a significant snowfall. I think 3-10cm from the Malahat to parksville. Greater Victoria should see flurries with trace to 4cm.

Time will tell if it was a blip of the start of a trend. Even the new, lower amounts still would mean accumulating snow in the lowlands.

Can we for once get an arctic front that defies the models and hugely overperforms??
Maybe this time we win. The pacific is right there Dammmmmmit!
Looking forward to our first 3 day stretch of sun and 20c++ 8-)
