I'm not a soccer guy, happy for Canada, I remember the last time they were in the world cup in 86 with Bobby Lenarduzzi ,I was working at Expo at the time. But how was Canada the better team today when the USA seemed to have 90% of ball possession , was that like rope a dope soccer? Lack of game breakers by USA? Just trying to figure out why commentators said Canada was so good in this game.

The US like to play a possession based game. Their midfield is pretty stacked. Canada was also missing two top midfielders (Eustaquio and Hutchinson) and a top winger (Davies). With the players we had, the strategy was for the two forwards (Larin and David) to drop deeper and help the midfield block, and pressure and play on the counter-attack when the opportunity arose. Looking at it that way, Canada played a great game and executed the strategy to near perfection. In the end, Canada actually had more shots on goal than the US.

Good explanation, thanks.

Sards, I was looking forward to that since like last June. It was so unbelievable that I missed it. The brain fog and some of the medication I was on, but also just being a total dunce all around. Glad we won though.

Everybody watch Alphonso Davies' reactions to those goals. That stuff pumps me up so much. I can't wait to see him in the world Cup. It's next December!! That's right around the corner folks.

Final score El Salvador 0-2 Canada.

Surreal seeing Canada win home games against Mexico and the USA but winning away games in central america under really crappy conditions (crap pitch quality, weather, crowd atmosphere, Sh*tty reffing, fans throwing beer cans onto the pitch, etc) is equally impressive

The legend Aitba Hutchinson. 39 years old. Still playing in a top league at CM. Following this team for years and that man deserves this more than anyone after suffering so much for his entire career. The greatest Canadian athlete ever that many don't even know.

His reaction to the goal was heart warming. I can't believe he's killing it at 39, they mentioned the heat there and the 100% humidity and he still makes it down field for that header.

Really, Canucks had a video tribute for Ericsson and Rousell?
   . Who makes these decisions? This makes a mockery of what these video tributes were initially intended for.
