I know you're trolling but I'm happy with this. Melt the snow, I hate the slop anyways. We'll get cold again at some point, maybe even get a fresh supply. Personally, I like that the snow tends to melt promptly and definitively here. No interminable wait to spring to come, looking at the slooooowly melting snow that’s gradually getting dirtier and dirtier and making everything look drab and depressing.

Don't think I got a whole lot overnight, like hound said probably didn't get much moisture.
Currently 2.6° with light drizzle.

TWN is reporting freezing rain in Abbotsford and Chilliwack, yet none of our FV members are saying anything.
We know it can be dangerous for driving but freezing rain can provide some awesome ice formations and scenic pictures. It would be great if some of you in the valley can post some photos.

I'm starting to have a good feeling for February now. Maybe I'm just reading too much into the Euro weeklies, but looking back at previous runs, they seem to consistently showing a GOA block redeveloping at some point in the month. Phil on the American forums says the 10th-20th is the next period where the PNW could see another arctic blast. Sounds reasonable based on what the weeklies show. Until then, mild rains and maybe an AR event or two. By the way, one good sign for February is the models seem to rebuild the arctic air into Alaska in the next few weeks. Once we hit February, we'll just need a way to bring it south. Anyways, there is still lots of interesting weather to follow and discuss.

For the last couple of hours it has just been a light drizzle so took the kids to the sledding hill once more. Steady rain started again so we left.

We had approx 2-5cm of snow overnight, and currently not much moisture. Had a sprinkle of freezing rain, currently -5

Environment Canada was also way off about yesterday and today. I sometimes wonder if professional meteorologists read too much into the data. I took a few mins and looked over the models yesterday and had no idea why a winter storm warning was issued. I was very surprised that WeatherPro was also going all in on a snowstorm. Models looked dry. Of course you could read a bunch of stuff into the data and disagree with the direct model output, but thats risky in my opinion. While you don't want to make a forecast by merely copying the the direct model output, the model output should be a guide. If they all are showing us staying dry, then why issue a winter storm warning?

By the way, this is nothing personal against Environment Canada meteorologists or WeatherPro. They are very smart, and have much more experience, training, and knowledge than I do. I'm just pointing that perhaps sometimes too much knowledge can lead to over complicating the forecast, and then having it bust. Just my opinion.
