Which acurite station do you have? A unified suite should only require 1 set of batteries for the sensor and one set as back up for the display unit/receiver. Having said this, although my acurite station performs "adequately" one gets what they pay for and If you have the coin, the options are much better. Davis and ambient products come to mind. I didn't have the coinAbbyJr wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 4:15 pm Okay so it appears I have fixed my weather station but unfortunately, I lost all of my January data. To prevent this from happening in the future, I am going to be keeping a manual backup record on my computer of my daily data in the event the station itself malfunctions.
I'm not sure why, but when I changed the batteries in my temperature sensor, it started giving me readings that didn't seem accurate at times and the signal reception kept fluctuating up and down as if the connection was not stable. Further, when I went to change my rain gauge batteries, it randomly erased my previous January totals and added 116 mm on for yesterday when in fact it hardly rained at all yesterday. I don't know if there was just a dud in my replacement batteries or not. I'm thinking the issue may have been that I changed my monitoring station batteries prior to changing the batteries of the individual sensors. I did this so I could reset everything on January 1st at 12:00 AM and figured I could change the outdoor sensor batteries another day. But perhaps its best to change them all at once. The instruction manual does give the setup order as follow: Temperature sensor, Rain Gauge, and Monitoring station. So maybe I have to do it in that order for everything to work properly. I don't know but I've replaced all the sensors and monitoring station with brand new batteries and it seems to be working perfectly now that its all reset.
I don't think I will be buying any AcuRite products again. I'm also going to be looking for a better station.
Does anybody know of any 5 in one stations that don't have to be mounted on the roof?

But its now sold out on the AcuRite site. I think Amazon has some left, which is where I purchased mine.
The temperature sensor and rain gauge all use batteries. The monitoring station also uses its own batteries but has no option for AC power. Thats whats frustrating. When I change the batteries every year, I lose all the data. I refuse to pay for the Access because its overpriced.

If you want to give acurite another chance then Lowes sells this one: https://www.lowes.ca/product/digital-we ... ain-352256AbbyJr wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 5:22 pm This one:

However, although it's adequate and can log and save data, there are of course better options. I was just looking at a station that came in around $3000. I won't be buying it

Did you use Lithium batterys for your outdoor sensors Jr. I believe with those units rain gauge and temperature sensor require batterys.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 5:22 pm This one:

It had a really hokey fluid barometer, a wet and dry bulb thermometer and the wind gauge. It was fun though, because there was a wheel where you'd dial in you wind direction and temp and it would have a corresponding forecast. The very first night it told me it was going to snow. And it actually did- Nov 18 1977.
