He's the Jim/SnowWizard of Oregon.

At least he didn't mention 1968/69 or 1949/1950. :whistley: :whistley: :whistley:

-5C here under clear skies at the moment.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

All three are second year Nina's.

Also, small correction: First analogue is 71-72, not 70-71.

YVr did really well, any chance of posting afew island locales Tmaster? l'm thinking Nanaimo did well.
I remember l looked it up, I recall western sections of Vancouver did well like Kitsilano where l lived at the time. I remember Norm Grohman showing a satellite picture black and white back then with a nice low stationery off the coast back then, man what a snow event.
I remember satellite pictures were in 2 parts first frame in the morning 2nd frame in the afternoon.
I remember the satellite photo on t v. You could see it was pasted together.
Amazing now we get satellite imagery every hour or less and we can pull it up on the internet we are blessed with all the weather info. the public has access to.

Planning on posting a similar table for island stations later this week.

Yeah, it was a historic snowstorm, especially for northern sections of Metro Vancouver. 80-120cm over a 4.5 day period. FWIW, I'd say the "Vancouver Dunbar" station likely was closest to where you lived.

We've missed out on these frosty morning's due to the Anusol breeze in the central valley this weekend, it's died off tonight.

Yeah thats what I was thinking as well. All of his analogs feature top tier cold and snowy patterns. That said, he did present some compelling evidence so maybe his forecast will verify. One can only hope... :wish:

Keep in mind, most of these observations are from the old volunteer stations at EC, hence the difference in totals over small areas could be exaggerated due to measuring errors.
