Wouldn’t be your typical big windstorm but breezy for sure. Low end warnings perhaps.

All Catnip’s tagline claims is that this winter will be “a good one.” Not “best ever,” not “best in decades,” not even “best in a decade.” Just “a good one.” Given how much fun Catnip had during last January’s cold wave, that can safely be taken to be a prediction that it will be a colder and snowier than normal winter in the lowlands. Not so hype-y, particularly given how La Niña in general biases things to the cooler* side. A non-trivial fraction of La Niña winters do end up being snowier than normal in the lowlands.

* Though not necessarily snowier in the lowlands, hence my prediction last month of snowfall being about average in the lowlands.

P.S. As for the American forum, yes. This winter is being hyped through the sky over there.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Nah, all we need is this: November 1985 plus December 1996, plus January 1950, plus Feb 1954, and to top it off - March can be 25 degrees and sunny because I"d be ready for spring!! Bring it on!! Wait a sec... I live in BC. Nevermind :'(

I'm not a fan of the widespread damage they can cause and could do without, but I do find them absolutely fascinating to track from a meteorological perspective.

Long range continues to look cool and wet. Fairly flat but broad north pacific ridge leads to persistent NW flow here. Pretty typical La Nina pattern.

Fairly run-of-the-mill November rainfall. Two day total likely 60-90mm close to the mountains when all is set and done.

Environment Canada says 40-50 mm Tuesday and then another 10-20 mm Tuesday night for Abbotsford. Thats 50-70 mm 24 hour totals. Thats a bit more unusual for Abbotsford, which is usually under a bit of a rain shadow. But run of the mill in comparison to other major rain events.

Should be another mild afternoon once the inversion dissipates.
