With that said, what we did not expect is lockdowns and restrictions remaining in place long past their due dates (or worsening - i.e. vaccine passports) , especially in societies that are perceived as democratic.
To be honest, I expected it. It seemed likely to me from day one that Covid was going to be used as an excuse to justify authoritarian power and control. I remember the days when the thought of Covid being used to usher in a "new world order" was just a crazy conspiracy theory despite the phrase "new normal" being pushed all throughout the media. We were also told the vaccine would not be mandated and reassured this shortly before we were suddenly faced with vaccine passports. Yet people wonder why there is so much distrust for the government. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Best time to find a job is now companys are hiring like crazy experience or not but as long as you have the jab.

Nope Glace, unfortunately vaxx % will never make a difference only the magnitude or severity of the illness.
Whether your vaxx or not it's here forever and will be a news item daily frankily l'm tired of it being on the news may as well start telling us how many people died from the seasonal flu as well.

Unfortunately no John, however l think the subject has tired many members out so were just learned to live with it.
After awhile it's like reporting how many flu or cold cases in a day.
Plus as for myself John the pharmaceutical companies profiting off this makes me ill to think aboit it.

I'd say we've done pretty much everything we can realistically do. It was always going to be endemic. There's never been a vaccine that could eradicate a coronavirus.

New Zealand thought they could escape COVID, now they're seeing over 200 cases a day...

Does that mean the pandemic will never be taken down by the W.H.O.?

Your right John, hearing Omicron is no different than Delta fear mongering. pharmaceutical companies are happy more vaccines more money.

Frustration over a bad situation is understandable. the world has been caught with its pants down with some very serious variants. I agree with the cautious approach. Let's see the data, and hopefully it's nothing.
