To whom it may concern; I would like to complain, in the strongest possible terms, about the lack of diversity; the sameness in our current weather. Now, one could be forgiven for assuming that the weather is controlled by a government ministry and because of COVID, with everyone working from home, there is not the same scope of weather available to the civil service, but that would be rubbish. Everyone knows (of course), that the weather is controlled by Disney (tm). Yes, Disney! Now, Disney has been able to produce gems like " The Little Mermaid", science fiction as in "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea", racially insensitive films like "Songs of the South" and happens to be one of the largest distributors of pornography. Zippa de do dah!
This represents diversity. Where is this same diversity when it comes to our weather, I ask you? Well? Now, I am not asking for 1,000 furloughed employees to dress in ridiculous snowflake costumes, into which previous employees have vomited because of the heat and discomfort, I am simply asking that you apply the same rigorous standards of diversity to our weather that you do to some of the other things you produce. It is WINTER for Walt's sake! Get on the stick Disney! Otherwise, I shall have no option but to cancel my monthly subscription to...nevermind.

Sincerely, A dissatisfied citizen.

P.S. Happy New Year

Raining on the ski hills again. We might as well write off winter forever because it is never going to improve. So depressing. Especially this year when we all need a break. And with half the amount of people already working from home, having a snowy winter would have been great considering travel. I remember back to October and even September as it cooled early this year and looked hopeful, however once again we get screwed. Nothing turns out in our favour. Without a doubt we are the anus of Canada.

I feel like there may be a period of ridging in our future. Would be really nice to dry out for a few days.

I’m thinking our next chance of something decent may not come until later this month. A period of warmish/dry weather before then would be fine with me.

I’m working inside so it can rain for the month. Be nice if it was warmer though. That would lead to colder. Instead we have wet which will lead to drier. May get colder but no snow.

Rain warning has gone and so has the rain at the moment, but I see more incoming. It's also quite windy out, woke me up at 3 am, a toasty 7.2C right now.

The first month of winter has been a kick in the nuts for sure. Hang in there Hound, its going to go places soon, and even if thats ridging I would take it in a heartbeat.

The newest CanSIPS monthly shows colder temps for us for February, March, April, May and June, July is normal while next fall and December is colder than normal again.
Those models shouldn't exist. They are basically the farmers almanac but with a pretense of being scientific, therefor making them even more fraudulent. How on earth could they possibly know what's going to happen months down the road.

As someone who loves dreary rain days, even I could use a few days of sun. :tiredos:

ECMWF is much better with the split flow. Takes most systems offshore or further North after next Wednesday. Mild drizzle at times but the Easterly downsloping winds would bring mostly mild and dry weather.

Downside is the local ski hills are going to see some melt with periodic slushy or wet snow. No powder the next 10 days.

Why does Environment Canada's weather stations have so much missing data?

Its still a really helpful resource but I wonder why there is a lot of missing data. Must be technical problems. Oh well.
