Yeah, and the Rgem has the precip shield just barely over the Lower Mainland. Easy to see how that misses us completely.

It will be interesting to see how the HRDPS handles it. I never thought I would be model riding in the middle of summer for a day of rain, but here we are.

I kind of do it every summer. I've found a good summer troughing event to be almost as good as a snowfall. I know that sounds crazy but summer troughing means clean air, possibility of campfires, lush green plantlife, no need for watering, no fires and smoke etc. And the consequences of not getting one are worse than not getting any cold and snow in winter IMO.

That EPS was horrendous. This is a tease and nothing more.

If that ULL drifts back west off shore it’ll probably end up getting super hot. Not much model support for that from the other models but climo and persistence in the summer pattern say it’s at least possible

To be fair the 12Z only showed about 0.4mm of rain in the valley this weekend. The 18Z definitely is wetter next week though.

Hopefully that starts with some light showers so the ground can soften up otherwise it'll all just run off and well have flooding in August

Does start out pretty light and lasts for a while, so fingers crossed.
