I've gotta try something to break you, the answer is out there somewhere.
I think the answer's right there, you're not trying hard enough, you need to get more sleep (sleep in late), eat a more varied diet (diet Pepsi have ketchup Doritos, timbits, DQ caramel banana splts,) and don't forget the mental aspect, learn from the best (binge watching X files on Netflix). I've heard it's a winning combination!

For a little while there I thought it went over your head but it's me who has egg on his face, I got the x files catch phrase wrong, should have been The Truth is Out There. Speaking of I might have to try this new place on White Rock Beach

This is like saying that I haven't rolled a 6 in 5 tries so I'm due for a 6. Probabilities mean the odds of a 9 earthquake are the same whether it's been 2 years or 2000 years since the last big one. Speaking of which, there have been five 9.0 or greater quakes in the past 120 years, 3 in the 1950s and 1960s and 2 in the past 20 years.

The are 10s of thousands of km of fault lines on earth, so extremely rare we'd have one anywhere of the BC coast in our lifetime. Even at that the major fault line is 500km off the coast.

Tsunamis can certainly be a problem for places like port Alberni

Yes it's looking that could be a possibility. Only time will tell. I would prefer a variable September with seasonal Temps and then a chillier second half of October and November to get the snow season off to a good start

Kind of like 2016. Seasonal September, chilly and wet fall but then a warm stretch right before the big December 4 blast that was on and off for 6 weeks. I would love another winter like that one.

Interesting. I've only recently gotten interested in earthquakes and seismology, and have often wondered what the ramifications would be of a 9.0 megathrust earthquake on a fault so far from Metro Vancouver. Various maps and simulations that are around have mostly been focused on Washington and Oregon state, but through extrapolation they usually show the intensity as 7.0-7.5 over much of Metro Vancouver.

I have a new fully updated forum here http://137.184.12.223/. This will eventually be the NEW home for the website. Currently I don't have a domain name pointing to it and I will be figuring out how to get all the current content on that website. :)

NOTE: I will use the same domain name to go there so you don't have to worry about remembering a new domain name.

Heard on NW news USGS falsely recorded a 6.5M earthquake in B.C. this afternoon.
It's been removed from their website, there was no quake in B.C.
