Averages out to be fairly zonal, imo. Lots of rain for us.

We'll need rain almost everyday until month's end to keep pace with 2016. Precip was very persistent that fall.

October 2016 had about 3/4 days with no rain, while we're already up to about 5 days this month.

Quite a pronounced rain shadow here in steveston. Just a light rain but noticeably heavier in north Richmond. Will this be the case throughout this AR?

Never count your snowstorms until they flake, Sardine.
I guess.

I prefer accumulation though.

Around 7am this morning I saw some flakes falling even though it was about 5C. Had some sprinkles this afternoon too.
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Would be nice if the similar wet Fall transitioned to decent lowland snow like in 2016/17. We had a cold and snowy December 2016 and some snow in early 2017. Wasn't 2016 a white Christmas?

Trace precip here today. Low of 5C high of 10C. Very mild compared to the past few days which had lows between -7C and -4C.

Next 10 days look mild here with highs around 15C. Is it a good thing for December?
It always snows in December in the Kootenays

Enjoying your reports from Cranbrook Ants home of the Kootenay ice, do they play in Cranbrook? just go easy on us when you have 10 feet of snow.
You may need an extra long stick to measure snowfall. :shifty:

Yeah that was a great winter and we did have a white Christmas.

We had snow on the ground here in east Coquitlam almost uninterrupted from early Dec thru late Feb.

Was predicted to be a big gap in rainfall totals between northern and southern sections of the mainland. It'll pick up for everyone tonight and early tomorrow morning though.

North Coquitlam rain gauge is up to 53mm so far today.
