Even in the Banana Belt?wetcoast91 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 8:00 am Where is everyone? Tomorrow looks quite snowy for many areas in the Lower Mainland, especially Metro Vancouver. It's going to catch a lot of commuters by surprise.
2-4 cm for many area's by the afternoon before it transitions to drizzle/rain later on in the day. Potentially 5-10cm higher up.

Re: February 2022 Forecasts And Discussions
Yeah. I'm going with 5 cm for lower elevations and inland. Up to 10 cm for higher elevations in the usual snowy spots such as Burnaby Mountain and Westwood Plateau.
Looks like the ensembles want to try again to amplify the ridge into the Gulf of Alaska later in the month. We will have to watch the trends but I'd be surprised if we don't at least see one more brief period of modified arctic air this winter.

This is unusual...there are snowfall amounts in the EC forecast, but no SWS yet. Maybe they're waiting for the 4 PM package.

Still nothing doing in the ensembles. Running out of time for another crack at winter here.

Re: February 2022 Forecasts And Discussions
Historically our window for a decent cold/snow event (snowcover for at least a few days, subfreezing high temps) runs thru mid March. We still got time.
