Check up on the weather after a few hours, and what do you know? It’s snowing! About 1 cm on the ground so far.

Looks like the WRF-GFS was the correct model for once!

Edit: at least a cm on the ground now, so I’ve cracked the 60 cm barrier for the season.
It's called clown range for a reason.

Just a dusting here so far but it's coming down in bigger flakes. The car is covered but the grass isn't.

-0.8 and SNOWING!!!!

What a waste though, this would have been so fun if it happened during the day. Any chance of snow as it turns to rain this weekend? Just checked EC +7 and rain...I guess not.

The ice crystals are so fine they actually sparkle in the lights. It's incredibly beautiful.

Measured just under 2 cm in the observation area. Very fluffy and light, tonnes of air in the flakes.

Yeah,I think most of my snow totals are from night snow, not as much fun, takes the sail out of your winds.

Looks like I'm closing in on 2 cm, too. It is indeed sparkly and fluffy, much like the snow on Dec 30th. Doubt we'll see as much as then, however.

EC now calling for up to 2 cm tonight. Let’s try for 4 :D .
