We discussed this last year Tcool, E.C. really needs to come up with an official central Metro Vancouver City observation site one that represents the city until that ever happens were stuck with an absolute garbage spot for an official reporting site.
The average folk are going to think it's cool here all summer long. :shifty: of course the other draw back is being a city by the water your going to get variables block by block almost.
You could live in a land locked city inland and it wouldn't matter where the official reporting site is it would represent the city any where the airport is located or station.
For example it get's better for uniform temperatures say in Chilliwack it's pretty much the same readings throughout the city however precipitation increases as you head to the north side of Chilliwack.
In the mean time among weather enthusiasts the YVR debate will be a joke forever. A perfect scenario would have been 3 official stations YVR, downtown Vancouver and a central city location all having started the same date keeping records so by now we would have had good averages temp, precip etc. covering Metro Van. IMO

The further we get into the season the more I'm ok with this pattern. I would like some sun for sure but not at the cost of death ridges, towns burning down and having smoke blown up your ass, i mean down your throat. Let's just hope we can get through this summer with some nice variable weather conditions INCLUDING lots of sunshine but also enough moisture.

Same thing, it redirects to the bikehub.ca website.

If we get a heat wave like in 1948 a 1948 style flood is definitely possible. At this point it may be better to stay relatively cool well into the summer to avoid major flooding.

Thunder is reported at Cowichan Bay, any chance of thunderstorms in Metro Vancouver?

Current radar indication shows precip over central Vancouver Island moving in a NEasterly direction Ty my man with a possible hook formation cloud just north of Cayuse on Vancouver Island.
