Yep, the first 10 days of March 1951 were incredibly snowy. Some pretty cold days in there too. So much so that outflow seems to have limited totals in the central and eastern valley... Agassiz had a high/low of -5.6c/-10.0c on March 6/7th, 1951.

Totals across the region:

YVR: 41.1cm
Vancouver City Hall: 48.5cm
New Westminster: 115.6cm
Burquitlam: 86.3cm
Port Moody (Ioco Refinery): 96.5cm
Buntzen Lake: 74.3cm
Coquitlam Lake: 116.9cm
Maple Ridge (Alouette Lake): 110.7cm
Mission (Stave Falls): 131.9cm
YXX: 115.1cm
Chilliwack: 69.8cm
Agassiz: 56.3cm

VanCitySouth wrote: Tue Jan 31, 2023 9:32 pm I still remember in 2018, it was nice and warm, 9 or 10 degrees on a mid-February afternoon. It was even 4 degrees until very late at night, hope seemed lost, then the arctic front swept in and the temp plummeted 4 degrees in 20 minutes and we got 5 cm of snow. Then a few days later we had a late Feb snowstorm and I picked up over 20 cm IMBY.

Anyway my point is, you can have your warm, as long as I get another sharp arctic front.
That was a great weeklong winter event. Had something for everyone. Sharp arctic front, strong winds and blowing snow (~4-8cm across the region), couple clear/chilly days, subfreezing day with flurries (tr-2cm except 10cm+ significant sea effect snowfall for south delta), another clear/chilly day, followed by a notable overrunning snowfall (~10-30cm across the region). One of my favourites in the past couple decades. Especially considering it occurred in mid-late February.

I thought I could get away with moderate salting of our 230 feet of sidewalks, since this was a marginal event, but I can see the *snow is starting to overwhelm and cover the sidewalk anyways :? Still pretty light though.
