Definitely, I wasn't calling it untypical. Just trying to dramatize the very bland season it is, albeit maybe my favourite season . Loved the weather this week, love it when it rains or shines.

Could use a stencil of a maple leaf on your legs skipper Gimps that would attract a lot of attention as well as a conversation piece. :wtf:
Reached a roasty toasty high of 27c on Tuesday @ the pond in south Sardis.

Creeks are spilling their banks already and we don't' have the rain yet. 2017 Elephant Hill fire is causing more problems for Cache Creek.

The 2021 White Rock Lake fire means record smashing flows out of Whiteman Creek flowing into Okanagan Lake. Lots of evacuations along the creek on the OKIB (Okanagan Indian Band) land.

Chalk another one for EC. No mention of any T-Storms in yesterdays forecasts at all, while some people mentioned the possibility of some..even saw the graphic of the projected SuperCell. Looked amazing... Bust. Fizzled right out over the Mountains.
For all the times EC busts, they are often correct too.

I designate today (May 3) to be ECAD 8-)
EC Appreciation Day!
:bravo: :congrats:
MAYDAY MAYDAY! We need some warm sunny weather this month. Some showers mixed in would be good too

It was a warm one yesterday but not for some parts of Metro Vancouver. It only got to 16.9c at YVR. It was 23c at my place in Surrey.

Was this from thunderstorms or is this mostly snowmelt?

Snow melt. It's been dry... so far. Whiteman Creek has come down now, but when the rain comes it will go up again. It probably won't rise as high as it was yesterday, which was a new all time record.

The median date for peak flow is May 18th. The earliest peak on record was March 31st, 2015. The latest was June 13th, 1990.

Also, here is an interesting question for you, which river is larger in terms of peak flow, the Liard for Fraser? And which peaks first? The answer to both questions is they are exactly the same. They both peak on June 13th.

The earliest peak for the Fraser was May 1st, 1934. For the Liard the earliest was May 8th (in both 1951 and 1989)

The latest peak for the Fraser was July 23rd, 2001. For the Liard it was September 5th, 2016.
