Only 16.1mm of rain this month. Curious how that stacks up against other dry Mays.

#2 -- 2015: 4.2mm

#3 -- 1924: 5.8mm

#4 -- 1946: 8.4mm

#5 -- 1935: 10.2mm

#6 -- 1956: 10.7mm

#7 -- 1914: 13.5mm

#8 -- 1992: 15.8mm

#9 -- 2023: 16.1mm

#10 -- 1929: 20.8mm

#11 -- 1907: 21.1mm

#12 -- 1932: 21.3mm

#13 -- 1918 and 1982: 22.6mm

Data: Steveston (1896-1936) + YVR (1937-2023)
By contrast, Kamloops:

20mm in 2023 (so far), which makes it the 57th driest May on record. The 1990-2020 average is 30.7. But prior to the 1980s May was a lot drier! 1/3 as wet. The 1951-1980 average is 21.5 mm.

Direst on record:
1) 1901 = 0
2) 1904= 0.4
3) 2018 = 2.4
4) 2007 = 3.1
5) 1907 = 3.4

Wettest:
1) 1942 = 64.7
2) 1902 = 63.6

So 1901 was the driest on record and the following May was the 2nd wettest on record.

I really hope we don't have to wait until October before we get rain again.
