Heavy rain on Thursday?
Maybe but the models have been really poor at precipitation predication lately. But both the Euro and GEM agree at 87 hours out. Looks like the typical rain shadow effect at YXX will be non-existent if either one of these solutions verify.

Re: November 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
One of the Seattle twitter accounts yesterday referred to November 2006. Windstorms, rainstorms and snow and we also had decent snow for December and Jan 2007 had a very cold blast. I was going to UFV at the time in Abbotsford and I was in class when the November 2006 snowstorm started. I had to run a couple blocks to catch the next bus to Mission due to the ice/snow on the road.

Re: November 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
2006/07 was one of my favourite winters here. Very dynamic in terms of major weather events. Back to back windstorms, Atmospheric Rivers, and the epic November snowstorm and arctic blast. Even January performed well with a decent snowfall and cold period. I’d love to see a repeat.stuffradio wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 1:30 pm One of the Seattle twitter accounts yesterday referred to November 2006. Re: November 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
One of the special parts about the November 2006 snowstorm was how it was so unexpected. I didn't look at the models back then but from what I understand, the models failed big time on that one and didn't pick up on it until the last minute. I do remember a last minute change in the forecast from chance of flurries to heavy snow with up to 50cm possible. I remember looking at the updated forecast and running downstairs announcing to my family how excited I was that we were going to get buried in lots of snow. I was still in high school at the time. I definitely enjoyed the couple snow days I got from that blizzard. Would be nice to a see a repeat.SouthSardiswx wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 5:10 pm Yeah l remember that fondly living in Maple Ridge at the time,

l remember the forecasted flurries and then in the early evening the snow was just dumping down heavy wet snow.AbbyJr wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 7:00 pm One of the special parts about the November 2006 snowstorm was how it was so unexpected. Happy Halloween! Watch for the ghosts and goblins in the non-rainy streets tonight
MAYDAY MAYDAY! We need some warm sunny weather this month. Some showers mixed in would be good too

Re: November 2023 Forecasts And Discussions
Did YVR record an official freeze this morning? According to the YVR weather records twitter account, yesterday was the 4th freeze in a row, and if we got a 5th today, that would be the most consecutive freezes in October. I see that hourly obs bottomed at +0.3 so it's pretty likely that it dipped below at some point in between.
