Never too late for a rug pull right? ;)
I do like the idea that it'll be chilly with precip, and that's about all I expect. It's far too early to be talking about rug pulls and if there's even a rug to pull! Sorry to be a debbie downer its not my usual schtick with winter stuff but this winter I'm just not feeling anything coming.

Ya, that comment was more directed towards Rub's comment about the other forum. They like to go all in on some of these runs and then end up disappointed.

A change from this mild weather will be nice for sure.

Personally, I don’t particularly care how one forum reacts to clown range compared to another. I get no joy over rug pulls nor annoyed by the all in attitude. To each their own.

I'll throw the Korean into the mix.

It doesn't have the ridge in the East, but West looks similar.

The extended GEFS was hinting at the possible upcoming pattern for a while now. Good outcome for it if it pans out as currently modelled.

Looking forward, this is what it is showing for the end of Jan and the #beginningofFEB

I think a period of some below normal temps is looking more likely. How cool/cold... and will there be snow... :dunno:

I'll take what we can get during an El Torcho January!

:D

Two operational GFS outputs in a row advertising cold. Definitely not reason to get “touchdown” excited like our friends down south. But reason to pay attention. If I remember correctly it was the GFS op first to latch onto the heat dome, Jan ‘20, and Dec ‘21. It’s clown range, but an anomaly that verifies begins in clown range. I think what will verify will not be a cold as advertised. I doubt a reload will occur. The 06z op was dry. Perhaps a howling outflow with dust followed by an inversion is how this will pan out.
