Sounds like something skipper Gimpy would do.
In 2009, Flames coach Mike Keenan accused Vancouver defenseman Willie Mitchell of using an illegally long stick.
The refs confirmed it was legal, but the next time the two teams played Mitchell hit the ice for warmups with two sticks taped together.

Easier to get wins when you don't have ties. 1976 Canadiens only had 8 losses!

That's what I was thinking, looks like 14 less games played too in 76/77. I actually thought that Montreal still held the most wins record. What year did overtime/shootouts start, 90's ?

Ok,so 95/96 Red Wings 62 wins was legit.
Oops,forgot to check for ties for 76/77 Canadiens, they had 12,so the schedule was 80 games even in mid 70's.

Yeah it was sad Glace at the end l was in tears.
Heard he might do afew playoff games he'll be around next season but very limited.
