Picked up 6 mm yesterday and overnight.

A paltry 21.9 mm for the month. Models suggest minimal rainfall over the next 10 days, meaning I'll likely end up under 30 mm for the month of May.

I normally dislike Junuary, but we may need it to make an appearance this year.

GFS is nearly bone dry thru the next 10 days.

Temperatures look to be on the warm side of average, but nothing crazy showing up on the models yet.

Massive disparity in rainfall totals this month... I noticed that most of the precip bands have been focused over Metro Vancouver... very little activity to the west or east.

Washington State has declared a drought emergency. Notice on the map on the CBC article that a lot of the areas border BC. Does anyone know if there has been a similar declaration in BC? If not should there be? I am not sure what the definition is for drought. I think it has something to do with a certain number of years in a row with below normal precipitation.

Found this site - https://governmentofbc.maps.arcgis.com/ ... 50b08f7ebc Apparently only the central interior and NW BC is in drought. Guess Wash State and BC are using different criteria?

Anyone know if Hawk Moving goes there? May have to book myself a move!

Had a rainstorm today and my neighbour heard thunder, I was down in Gibsons when that happened under sunny but overcasting skies, could feel the cold, damp air moving in. It was unusual for the coast because you could see the storm cell and the blue sky instead of everything being either blue or rainy. Not a lot of accumulation from it but it was intense what did come down.
